February is American Heart Month. The Campbell Chamber is working with a number of its partners to help bring awareness to the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. It starts with our luncheon speaker, Dr. Punit Sarna from El Camino Hospital, who will be discussing various aspects of improving your heart health. Dr. Sarna will be followed by Stephanie Martinson, a survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and who’s Racing Heart Foundation has partnered with the Campbell Chamber to offer Automated External Defibrillators (A.E.D.s) to our members at a discount
The Chamber will also be working this month on a blood drive with Stanford Blood Center, as well as offering a class to learn CPR in association with Kaiser-Permanente.
Dr. Punit Sarna-Cardiologist-El Camino Hospital
Dr. Sarna is a Cardiovascular Disease (cardiology) Specialist in Mountain View, California. He graduated with honors from University Of Southern California School Of Medicine in 2005. Having more than 14 years of diverse experiences, especially in CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE (CARDIOLOGY), NUCLEAR MEDICINE, Dr. Punit K Sarna affiliates with many hospitals including Methodist Hospital Of Sacramento, El Camino Hospital, and cooperates with other doctors and specialists without joining any medical groups.
Stephanie Martinson - Founder/President- Racing Hearts Foundation
Stephanie was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ("an enlarged heart") at age 23 after experiencing an aborted Sudden Cardiac Arrest while climbing up Yosemite's Half Dome. In addition to being the founder of Racing Hearts, Stephanie is a Speech Pathologist at the Palo Alto Veteran Affairs Hospital, and has been a medical contributor to research findings relative to Traumatic Brain Injuries. Stephanie is also the Project Director of the Santa Clara County Wide AED program and oversees all Racing Hearts operations.
